“From the New Sea”

 薄く溶いた絵具を画面に空間が現れるまで何度も重ね、現れる空間(色面)をつなぎ合わせるよう、間を歌うように線を走らせる。
 様々な場所で撮影した画像(植物や風景)から、デジタル加工で抜き出した現実世界の輪郭線を重ねる。描かれた不定形色面と線描に、質の異なる線描を重層することで振動を得る。
 完成した画面は静止したままだが、見る度に新しい発見があり、過去の感覚や景色、あるいは匂いといった記憶に触れる。それは絵画の前に立つ私たちが変化を続け、その振幅の隙間に画面が浸透しているからなのだろう。

 I layered thinly melted paint over and over until a space appeared on the screen, and ran lines as if singing between the spaces (color surfaces) that appeared, connecting them together.
 The outlines of the real world, digitally extracted from images (plants and landscapes) taken in various locations, are layered on top of each other. Vibrations are obtained by layering line drawings of different quality on top of the drawn irregularly colored surfaces and line drawings.
 The finished painting remains static, but each time we look at it, we discover something new, touching on memories of past sensations, sights, and smells. This is probably because we, the viewers standing in front of the painting, are continuously changing, and the screen permeates the gap between the amplitude of these changes.
